Portrait FAQs

  • I specialize in helping individuals + companies to tell their stories through compelling imagery, social media reels and other forms of creative input. When I work with my clients, I am all in with my creative vision. We work together to understand who they are, what they want to communicate and then we implement. The vision infuses through to the final product, ensuring that the edits are aligned with the overall vision.

  • Photography is a way of telling a story; it’s the process of making a vision come to life. For me, a powerful photograph captures, conveys & creates emotion in the subject & also in the viewer. You feel something by looking at it. Photographs can create change, action & a shift in one’s heart. Whether you are photographing a wedding or a brand campaign, emotion is involved. I love capturing that raw, real naturalness of a moment and also enjoy ideating, staging & creating a moment to intentionally capture a vision.

I love being involved in the art direction & execution of creative photoshoots whether that’s coordinating with a musician about how to tell the story of their music through visual artistry or if it’s working with a brand to help their customers feel connected to their product through communicating a brand vision & narrative through photography.

At the end of the day it’s creative play. It’s connection with other human beings & it’s storytelling. It’s fun, it’s playful, it’s natural.

When I am working with my individual clients or clients on set, it’s my top priority to have my clients feel safe to be their natural selves. A big part of my work has nothing to do with the camera. It’s all about people. It’s all about creating the atmosphere for the feeling we want to communicate. If you want to feel confident, calm & centered in your photographs, then my work is to set the tone for you to feel calm, confident & centered. From there, we just snap the lens.

  • What sets my photography apart is my presence. It’s the attention that I give to each detail in the shot & the presence that I provide for my clients who are on the other side of the camera. It’s what creates the most impactful image. When I bring my full presence as a photographer, my clients feel at ease – they feel natural, they feel like themselves which creates the most authentic photograph.

For my commercial work, what sets me apart from other photographers is my deep experience & understanding in marketing, consumer behavior & business strategy. In college, I was a huge marketing nerd. I sat in the front row in all my classes & loved getting to learn & experience life through the lens of business.

  • My current portrait packages range from 45 minutes to a full weekend with me. I work with my clients to understand their needs and come up with the right project timeline for them. The sky is the limit.

  • You can expect to receive your photos within 2 weeks of our shoot, sometimes much sooner. You will receive a link to your online gallery where you can download the images, choose your favorites and share with anybody that you’d like.

  • Absolutely! Travel is a big part of the work that I do & I love traveling for photography jobs.

For Portrait session Photoshoots within 50 miles of Austin are all included but for photoshoots outside of that range, there is an additional travel fee depending on the scope of the project. I am happy & willing to travel!

  • Once we start working together, we hit the ground running with our connection call. This is where the bulk of our strategic planning takes place and is followed up with emails preparing you each step of the way until your shoot. During our call, we will discuss location, outfits, style, ideas, themes, etc. It’s important for us to walk away from this experience knowing who you are and what you want to communicate.

After the logistics are all squared away, it’s time to make sure you are all set. Do you need to schedule any appointments ahead of time? Hair, nails, etc. Make sure to plan your timing appropriately for the shoot date.

Aside from those line items, a big part of photoshoots is mindset.

What would have you feeling prepared to feel confident, comfortable & connected to your mission when you are in front of the camera?

Get loads of sleep, stay hydrated, and even start coaching yourself if you are somebody who can feel fear in front of the camera. Start thinking about how you want to feel and begin filling yourself up with that each day.

Overall, my main perspective around preparation is to set yourself up in whatever ways you feel your best!

Exercise that morning, shower, do your hair. Feel good. Meditate in the morning. Hydrate for a few days before your shoot & prioritize your sleep. Eat fresh. Feel good to the best of your ability!

Otherwise, don’t you worry! I am here to support you in feeling at ease, confident, and connected.
